Great for when the teen sprains his ankle…again

We got the Tolaccea ankle Ice Pack Wrap because our son keeps hurting his ankle. Hey, things happen, but we figured this would be handy because it provides cold all around the ankle, not just wherever the ice bag happens to hit. This works as claimed. It provides cold all around & also provides a little bit of compression (this will vary depending on the size of the ankle/kid and what size of pack you get.) I like how flexible this is. In my picture, there is extra gel in between where the pens are. This is nice since this is the area that needs the help most.

Targeted ice packs are the way to go

When I need to ice any kind of injury, I have always used whatever ice pack is in the freezer and make do. Most of the time, it's awkward and ill fitting but I make do. I've recently realized how much better of an experience it is if you have an ice pack that is meant to be used on that body part. I'm a complete convert -- if I hurt my ankle, I want an ice pack meant for an ankle and this is a good one. It's stretchy so easy easy to slide on -- and that's very important that it be easy to put on when you have an injury. You can use this for both heat or cold. It stays cold for about a half an hour. That's not a super long time, but since you're supposed to ice for 20 minutes on and 40 minutes off, it works. After 20 minutes, put it back in the freezer and it;s cold enough to do another 20 minutes on. Great product!

Flexible, stays cold for the recommended time

This ankle ice pack is definitely a step up from the the velcro wrap type. This is well made, very flexible when cold and easy to slip on your foot. It feels very soft and doesn't feel so cold that you feel the need for a layer between it and your foot. I also like the coverage it provides. It covers most of my foot and my ankle. My doctor told me to ice 20 mins every 2 hours and this lasts the 20 mins. I leave it in the plastic bag in comes in when I freeze it. Overall, super happy with it and highly recommend.

Surprisingly Impressed!

I didn’t necessarily have a lot of confidence that this product would work as well as I hoped. However, after putting this in the freezer for about two hours and using it on my sore ankle, I’m now a fan. I got the XL size which fits over my ankle without being too tight, and I do have fairly large ankles and calves. It also stayed cold for about 15 minutes. I wish that when I put it back in the freezer it would cool it a little bit faster. But, if I get a second one and alternate them, I will have no problems. I am very glad that I got this!

Comfortable

I have the large size and it still fit my skinny ankle just fine. I like how convenient it is. I put it in the freezer and then place over my foot and ankle. Feels great.

Limited cold retention/doesn't stay cold long.

This is a form fitted ankle cooling sleeve. Following the directions, the sleeve hits me at the bottom about at my midfoot and at the top about 3" above my ankle bone notches. I've used similar products before, and rather than using an actual gel cold pack it is just more of a neoprene like material that gets cold, but tends to not retain the cold for a long period of time. This inner layer is within an outer lining that is fairly slick.

The sleeve itself is comfortable, however it has no capacity for further compression if that is what you are after (no straps attached or otherwise). And like the other similar products like I stated, this sleeve is no exception to not staying cold for long. While it was quite cold when I first put it on after taking it out of the freezer (kept in freezer for 4 hours), it warmed up pretty fast. I don't have a heat/temp gun, but I'm estimating the sleeve was around 45-50 degrees after only having it on for about 5 minutes.

I'm giving it a 3/5 due to the limited cold retention. I think most people with injuries and pain are going to want a longer cryo treatment session.

These are great if you hurt your ankle or even if you just need a cold compress for anywhere else. We keep 2 of them in the freezer at all times. They never freeze solid, they just get very cold.

I have had 3 foot surgeries in last 1 1/2 years. I am left with pain and swelling. I liked the idea of a sock type ice pack. What could I lose? As soon as got it I put it in the freezer for two hours. I slipped it on with ease, it was very cold. I love how all of my foot and ankle is getting the relief from pain at once unlike an ice pack. I highly recommend this!

Helps but

This was exactly what I needed for spurs and tendon issues in my feet. They are pretty badly irritated and inflamed right now. I had a nice foot bucket but wished for something more comfy. This was it! Although, I really do need 2 of them. I think I was fooled by the picture and should have read the description better.
Anyways, it’s super soft. Love the way it fit over my foot. It easily slides on. According to the directions don’t wear longer than 30 minutes or frostbite… uh, no, I don not think so. Which brings me to the one thing I don’t like. I didn’t feel it stayed cold long enough. My expectations could be too high, I don’t know.
When I bought this I never gave it a thought, I could also use it for my elbow.

LOVE THE GEL COMFORT

I tore my Achilles and had surgery in Dec 2025. I am out of a boot and walking, but the swelling and pain from being on my feet throughout the day takes its toll.

By the end of the day I need an ice pack big time. I was using one that froze rather solid and had Velcro straps but the cold never quite hit the right spots at the back and sides of my ankle.

I saw this model and thought I would try gel instead. I wear a womens 10-11 depending on the shoe and when I measured my ankle, which is still swollen and will be for probably 8-12 months, it showed that I should use the size L.

The L was slightly big on me so I bought the M the next day. M still pulls on easily but fits like a glove. Not too tight. Just right!

My husband wears a mens size 15-16 and has had multiple foot surgeries and uses an ice pack daily so I gave him the L to try and he loved it.

These stayed cold for 15-20 minutes as advertised.

This sockis so awesome! I have to use a Sock Aid to get it on my foot & it actually stretches big enough for me to do that! And it goes right back into it original shape! The cold feels so good on my badly fractured right ankle which now has 3 rods, 2 plates & the nails/screws that hold the rods in. I have not tried to use the sock for Heat Therapy yet. My foot is hot enough!!! Excuse my toenails please! MD says no Pedicure yet!

I really like this ice/heat pack for the ankle. It’s well made and remains pliable. You can freeze for cold use or microwave for heat use. The cold lasted about 15 minutes for me but that’s about all I need at one time. It fit me well and is comfortable.
